I designed these characters a few years ago, but they just ended up in the 'Idea Drawer'. When I came across the first concept sketches again a little while ago, I thought it was time to bring these guys to life! John's "Secret Lab" (insert Newt making 'air-quotes' here) seemed like a good place to start. Rather than do the typical ‘How they met’ comic, I thought I’d throw you all off track with the little ‘test subject’ experiment. Don’t worry though… No newts were harmed in the making of this comic... Because it was just a drawing. :o)

PS: If you quickly skimmed over the artwork and missed the chalkboard at the end, then you missed the whole point of the experiment... shame on you! I like to throw extra details in the background to reward those who pay attention! :o)

Thanks for reading this first comic! Now that the characters are established, I can have some fun with them. Future comics will be about half the size of this first 'double-issue'. Bring some friends when you come back to view the next episode on Monday!
